Rick Guzman received the endorsements of Sen. Dick Durbin and Rep. Bill Foster on Saturday, March 18. The announcement was made during a gathering at the Painters District Council 30 building in Aurora. After the event, some attendees volunteered to spread the word about Guzman by knocking on doors and calling voters.
“Rick has demonstrated time and again he has a deep understanding of Aurora’s challenges and strengths and a plan to build its economy,” Durbin said. “He’s a leader in the truest sense of the word and will be ready on day one to secure a better future for Aurora and its residents.”
“I’m endorsing Rick Guzman because he is the candidate best positioned to continue Mayor Tom Weisner’s strong record of providing what families in the Aurora community need: good jobs, safe streets, quality schools, and an affordable cost of living,” Foster said. “Rick Guzman is a dedicated father raising a family here in our community.”
Durbin and Foster are part of a growing group of bipartisan supporters who share a common vision of doing “More Together” in Illinois’ second largest city. Durbin is the senior U.S. senator from Illinois. Foster represents the 11th congressional district, which includes the city of Aurora.
